Born and raised in Tokyo, Makiko moved to Paris in 2002.
Makiko has traveled to work on shows across the globe in New York, Los Angeles, London, Milan as well as Paris.
Her work is featured in publications such as Vogue Italia, Vogue US, L’Uomo Vogue, Numero, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour Italia, Glamour French, Vanity Fair, Elle Australia, Elle Ukraine, IO Donna.
Among the celebrities with whom Makiko worked are Rosario Dawson, Diane Kruger, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Sofia Coppola, Mia Wasikowska, Michelle Monaghan, Ivana Milicevic, Jared Leto, Troy Kotsur, Harrison Ford, and Tom Hanks.
Clients such as Adidas, Athleta, Babaà, Chase, Gucci, Google, Forever 21, Lambertz, Nike, Jaguar, Persol, Pomellato, Puma, Sunnies Face, Sunnies Studio, Uniqlo, Under Armour, Zara, many more.
Makiko also created all the looks from Michel Comte’s feature film “The Girl From Nagasaki”, screening at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.
Makiko currently lives in Spain.
